The overall design was led with a very strong concept, “The Thin Red Line,” which was organically branded through LDS’s logo and marketing graphics package.
The goal was to create that same feeling throughout the new office. The challenge was using materials and finishes that worked together in hue and texture.
“The Red Line” feels never ending, seamlessly contouring throughout the space. Starting at the main entrance, in a band of red film with the company’s logo, the red line touches almost every surface, including up and over the reception desk. It then “moves” dynamically throughout the space; on the floor, up the wall, across the ceiling in a 5” cove down to a protruding soffit, and so on.
Our design team selected fabrics and finishes with LDS executives. Raw materials, such as polished concrete floors and reclaimed wood wall paneling, contrast the glass office fronts and rich quartz stone surfaces. Our project management team assisted on the non-traditional architectural components with selection and installations of A/V equipment to enhance the company’s technology capabilities.
Breaking away from tradition, project team glass-enclosed rooms and the design innovation lab were placed along the windows, where staff and clients spend most of their time; offices and work stations were brought to the interior core.
