As a global leader in youth apparel, Aeropostale requires a space that embodies their cutting-edge sense of design and New York fashion studio sensibilities while providing an enlivening contemporary corporate culture. Their NJ office supports a youthful staff in a space that reflects their corporate mission, their fashion personality, and their staff’s vibrant energy. Employing a concept derived from textile construction, overlaid woven threads provide a coordinated pattern through polished concrete floors, ceiling accents, millwork, and wall details. In a dual scheme, views from entry spaces convey muted New York studio tones, while interior work environments present playful energizing colors. To provide full light access across the entire office, exposed ceilings, unique lighting, and full glass walls allow daylight and Manhattan views to carry across the entire plan. Backlit glass walls and hovering ceiling elements continue the warp and weft concept from reception, through conference and common areas, and into open office areas. KNA provided full lease and turnkey price negotiation, architectural design including a two-tier backup data center, construction administration, and branding integration, while Kimmerle Workspace provided full furniture and fixture purchasing and placement.
