J&J has been actively seeking to re-create space in a forward-thinking work place. Design of the spaces including completely mobile workforce spaces, with paperless environments, high-end technology, and flex space to allow staff to migrate daily between work areas. Each space has quiet, non-speaking concentrated areas, high-activity spaces for meeting/huddling, communicating, and mid-level work/low activity areas. Opportunities are designed into the space for total technology, soft seating, private office, meeting space, or touch-down spaces. Swooping curve shapes, color and non-traditional work areas have been created to encourage this sense of change from previous conservative and traditional offices. Complete redesign of J&J global security command center was also completed to allow J&J to monitor worldwide events and ensure the safety of their employees.
