The goals for MAPFRE’s North American Headquarters were clear: to transform a mundane, tired and placeless corporate office into a contemporary space with European sensibilities to properly showcase the world’s largest Spanish insurance company. Keeping the good bones of the existing space, KNA completely re-imagined the headquarters by opening walls and inserting glass to provide full office views with dramatic color viewpoints featuring branding graphics that showcase MAPFRE’s worldwide reach. A calm color scheme in shades of gray and white presents a European office sensibility. Challenges included a tight budget, and the client living through a phased construction while occupying the space. KNA provided complete design services and remotely involved MAPFRE’s Chairman in Madrid through photo rendered imagery. Kimmerle Workspace provided full furniture purchasing services, carrying the company’s image into glass panels and gleaming modern surfaces.
