Slated to establish Jersey City as the capital in training for sexual abuse prosecution, the National Association of Prosecutors worked with Kimmerle Group to identify sites and visualize potential outcomes for their national training center. The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart was selected with the cooperation of the Newark Archdiocese, and a bold proposal was developed to convert historic worship spaces for simulations of sensitive legal hearings. A series of fabric fans overhead clasp conference spaces below and frame access to court spaces in the historic alters at the rear. The project features training, hearing, and overnight-stay spaces for multi-week seminars. Kimmerle Group was instrumental in convening a collaboration between Community Action Partnerships, the Catholic Archdiocese of Newark, the National Association of Prosecutors, and the office of the Mayor of Jersey City.
