LDS is a strategy and business solutions consulting firm located in Florham Park, NJ. The main goal for their new headquarters was to design a highly collaborative, functional work environment that enhanced their consultancy work daily. KNA created an overall vision for the space that personified LDS down to the tiniest details.
Our design team led the design with a very strong concept, better known as “The Thin Red Line”. The red line “moves” dynamically throughout the space; on the floor, up the wall, and across the ceiling in a 5” cove that slants down to a protruding soffit, and so on. Starting at the main entrance, in a band of red film with the company’s logo, the red line proceeds to touch almost every horizontal and vertical surface in the space. Raw materials, such as polished concrete floors and reclaimed wood wall paneling, contrast the glass office fronts and rich quartz stone surfaces.
Breaking away from tradition, project team rooms were placed on the windows, where staff and clients spend most of their time, with offices and workstations brought to the interior instead.
Project Management and Kimmerle Newman Architects worked together through all phases of the project to ensure the consistency and strength of the concept. Our project management team provided coordination on the non-traditional architectural components including Audio Visual, IT infrastructure, Security, Relocation Services as well as Construction Administration and coordination with the Client’s furniture vendor.
